    Description

    as shown, vintage Ohmite model J variable resistor (rheostat), probably from the 1940s or maybe a bit earlier - marked "insulated for 300V", center contact is stamped with .5 ohms 10 amp max, excellent heavy duty design, should last a few more lifetimes if you don't grossly overload it.
